September 13, 2024
"Don't be afraid, everyone is interested in helping people who have an idea," said Janine Yancey, an employment lawyer and workplace investigator turned Founder and CEO of Emtrain.
Sacramento, CA – Only 2% — that's the small slice of venture capital funding received by women CEOs and founders.
Addressing this critical issue, the powerful documentary "Show Her the Money" will be hosted at The Sofia, Home of B Street Theatre on Sept. 14.
The documentary, which features women founders from various industries, offers Sacramento-area entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to build community and invest in one another.
"I think women bring a unique perspective to building companies, to founding companies, what we decide is an interesting idea to work on, is often different than what you get from men," said Janine Yancey, an employment lawyer and workplace investigator turned Founder and CEO of Emtrain.
When asked for advice for new founders, Yancey said, "Don't be afraid, everyone is interested in helping people who have an idea."
The event will kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, and it will include a screening of the documentary, guest speakers, a women’s small business showcase, networking opportunities and a speaking panel.
Tickets for the event can be found on the official event page.
