Sacramento Business Journal: HomeZada's Dodson wins global pitch contest for female tech founders
Elizabeth Dodson, co-founder of El Dorado Hills-based HomeZada, won a global pitch contest last week in New York City.
In addition to the $15,000 top cash prize, HomeZada also won access to the Wells Fargo Startup Accelerator, which can invest up to $1 million in the startup company.
“The other benefits are a lot more awareness of the company and the market validation of what we have done,” said company co-founder John Bodrozic. “It is important to have independent, third-party validation of your platform.”
The Female Founders in Tech 2019 contest was put on by Quesnay Inc. and presented by Wells Fargo, Discover and Equifax at Nasdaq headquarters.
The win also puts HomeZada in consideration for SALT 2020 in Las Vegas this May.
SALT, or SkyBridge Alternatives, was founded in 2009 by SkyBridge Capital, a New York-based global alternative investments firm, to showcase leading global asset managers and entrepreneurs.
